Tragedy

Our camera is broken!!!! We have to send the lense to Nikon for them to evaluate it and determine if it can be fixed. Sigh. So here are a couple pictures that were taken before it broke.
I have made my first two batches of baby food for Jase. I steamed parsnips and apples and pureed them, which is very tasty but the consistancy is not right for Jase because he just gags while it's in his throat. So that has to be mixed with creamier substance so he can swallow it. The favorite food so far is the Butternut Squash I made him. He gets very excited and even cried when it was all gone the first time he ate it.
With him crawling so good and fast we have to keep a close eye on him. He got a big bruise on his forehead today when he was cruising along the wall and slipped and hit his head on the door frame. If our camera worked I would post a picture of it. Here he was looking out the back door while Chopper wanted to come back inside. Jase thought it was fun to be at Chopper's eye level. Hopefully I will be able to post again soon with some new photos. Have a great week!!

Eight and a Half Months Old

Jase is officially crawling like a pro. It was overnight he went from shoving his face in the floor to moving on all fours. So now I have to keep Reese in the bouncy inside the Pack'n'Play so that Jase can't get to her and gouge an eye out. This past weekend Jase got his first experience in a pool. As with most everything else...he loved it. He just took it all in and was looking around. After we got home my parents came over for a few hours and we grilled out and off they went back to home. What a special treat for them to come over.

Jase loves to make this gesture by shrugging his shoulders and smiling so cute.
That is one big boy snoozing in that crib. (check out that cool bedding:)
He knows he is a big boy
Showing off and acting cool and relaxed while daddy floated him around the water.
He wanted to eat the float!
Just like his momma with the major wrinkled feet.
Time for chow!
Under he goes!!!
Coming up for air. What a good boy!
Daddy having a blast

Happy Anniversary

Monday we went out to eat for our 2 year anniversary. This is Jase at the head of the table. I forgot to bring him food and we didn't have his pacifier. oops. I have been only giving him his pacifier when he sleeps. But it worked out well. We had ice water and a straw which Jase loves to have water poured in his mouth. (Meaghan...we went to Salsa's Mexican and remembered that you and Patrick had done the same this year)
Doing what he loves to do all day long!!
Just love that profile...okay I love everything about him.
Moving around the room to anything he can pull himself up on.
Delicious tasty chunky monkeys!!!
I love it when he looks down and his lips and cheeks pouf out.
He says that this toy is so good to shake, eat, and move around.
I put frozen fruits in this mesh feeder and he just loves frozen peaches!
Of course he wanted the camera so that is why his eyes are watery but click on photo and you can really see those little razor blades.

Jase has now been pulling himself up on furniture and cruising back and forth. He gets very angry when he is stuck and just wants to walk so bad. When he isn't pulling himself up on furniture he is pulling himself on the floor, not an official crawl so he may skip that all together.

Natural born model!!

Future sports fanatic
Showing off his skills all day long
Looks like he is 10 years old with that hat on!

I bought him his first Gloworm. He was fascinated by it and I am trying to teach him how to push on the belly to make it light up and play music. We shall see how long that takes.

Jase has just been developing at rocket speed! Within one week he has learned how to sit up on his own from the laying down position to pulling himself up on his knees in his crib to standing up in his crib!!! Friday was Daddy Jason's birthday and we made a trip to Charlotte to visit Aunt Leigh, Uncle Tim, cousin Bailey and Austin. Even Grammy and Grandpa drove down from Virginia for the visit. Yesterday was my birthday and I had a great day! Jason got me some awesome stuff and my parents even came to eat dinner with us. We went and ate SUSHI!! yes! Jase eats twice a day now and whenever he sees us eating he wants some and will moan for it. I have to make sure I take food with us to feed him so he feels like he is eating with us. He is drinking water out of a sippy cup but mostly just chews on the spout and gets any water that may squirt out while he chews.

This picture is of Jase traveling like such a good boy and holding on to his carseat while cruising.
Jase and his cousins...the blue eyed angels!
Bath time with all his toys...he chews on each one at least once during the bath.
Clicking on photo will enlarge it and you will see his precious first tooth still working it's way out.
He lets us do almost everything to him.
Awesome action shot of the duck caught in mid air while falling off his head!!

What bubbles?
Duck head inserted into mouth...check!
Today caught in the act of standing in his crib.
He thinks he is big stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what prunes??

Jase is eating food once a day and today he told me when he wanted to eat it. He kept fussing and I asked him in baby sign language if he wanted to eat and he started flinging his arms around and making lots of noise. So I fed him his fourth kind of food...prunes. He has tried rice cereal which I decided not to give him anymore of because it was absolutely disgusting!! I saw some DHA enriched cereal that I may try. He has eaten mashed bananas that I make for him and this weekend he tried pears. Don't get me wrong we have given him little tastes of all sorts of foods but these are the actually foods he has eaten in larger quantities. As for the prunes, these pictures explain just how much he liked them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We will have to buy him some more!!!!

Seven Months and doing so much

Jase has started eating food. We started with rice cereal and he thought it was an strange taste but ate it anyway. By the way, for those that don't know...it tasted like liquid cardboard!! I have given him smashed up bananas which he likes and he loves to talk when he has the food in his mouth. I think he is trying to feel it in the throat. He eats several bites but isn't too interested in it yet. He does know how to open his mouth when you bring the spoon closer which we are not sure when he learned this. It must have been in that manual he read before entering the world. Next we will try pears!
He got to interact with other children around his age. One little 10 month old girl liked taking away toys from him and he just stared at her. At one point she yelled in his face at him and he then looked astonished and yelled right back at her which made her get up and go to her mother. Her mother thought it was hysterical because usually other children cry and she was happy that her daughter had "met her match." Too cute!
Two weekends ago we went to my parent's house. Here is Jase's cousin Elektra. She likes to say "MINE" to everything and she even says that Jase is hers.

She got very jealous that Jase was on Abuelito's lap even though she had no desire to be there before Jase came down from bed. As my dad said, "Monkey see, Monkey do!"
Early last week Jase and I headed to Emerald Isle, North Carolina to be with Jason's family. He was unable to go because he had school but we made the 6 hour trip just fine. Here is Jase right after having sunscreen slathered on all over, even under the sun shirt!
Grammy bought a little raft boat and they filled it up with warm water for Jase to play in on the deck. He thought it was great but really liked this waterball best of all.
Here was some of his audience while he was in the raft boat. It's Jason's brother, sister-in-law, mother and his Aunt and Uncle. We had a great time!!
Here is Jase with Grandpa feeling the ocean for the first time. He didn't mind the freezing cold water at all but this is as far as we went.

Here he is with Grammy just after waking up from a little cat nap on the beach. He thought she was just too cozy not to fall asleep on.
The second day we were there they moved the raft boat to the beach under the shade tent. He loved it just as much and had a great time splashing like a mad man! Great idea Grammy and Grandpa!!!!!
Here is his with his Uncle Tim and Cousin Bailey. Holy smokes, check out that leg!!
Jase likes to roll around on the floor and play with all his toys. Here he is reading a book under his jumperoo! He spent twenty minutes reading that book.
Saving the best for last...HE IS GETTING A TOOTH!!!!!! That sucker is a sharp as a razor too!
