Check this guy out!

Although we had to help Jase get into the standing position, he stood up for a few minutes without falling all on his own. It was a hoot to see those legs just holding still and he wasn't going anywhere. He has his six month check up next Thursday and more shots. Last week he went in to have his ears check to make sure that the ear infection was gone and luckily it was. During that visit a week ago he weighed 21 lbs and 9 ozs. All this weight from strictly mother's milk. There must be lead in it!

Memorial Day Weekend

Abuelita and Abuelito came to visit me this weekend. They came Thursday night so that they could watch me Friday while my daddy went to school to get things together for his boards on Saturday. Saturday my mom and dad went to school while dad took his board exams. Abuelita and Abuelito had lots of fun with me. I hung outside for a bit with Abuelito and my dog, Chopper, which was a lot of fun because I got to see many things that I don't get to see inside. Abuelita even gave me a bath in the sink, which made me nervous at first but then I loved it. Sunday we went for a picnic at Clark Hill Lake. We found a perfect spot where there was no one else there and we had a nice relaxing time. All and all it was a great weekend with some great people. We love having abuelita and abuelito visit us as much as they do.

Getting squeaky clean.
Is this a potato or a foot????
We think that soon, just maybe, I will have teeth. I am acting like I am teething but only time will tell.
Here I am with my dog and Abuelito in the front yard having really good times in the shade.
Here I am with my mom and dad at the lake having a picnic!

Keeping cool.

My mom just couldn't resist this photo. Look at that face!!!!!!!!!!!!

This picnic stuff has me beat!!

Check me out with Abuelito, notice my pajama leg off? I did it all by myself when i took a nap!

Big Week

This past week Jason's mother and father came on Wednesday, my parents came Thursday and then his brother, Tim, and his family came for Jason's graduation on Friday. Finally graduation came and went and now no more dental school. Only two more years of endodontic program and then no more school! We are so proud of him and his accomplishments. We really enjoyed everyone being here and spending time with family. This Sunday was my very first mother's day. It was awesome. My sister sent me orchids in a beautiful vase, my mother got me some great goodies and then my husband and baby Jase got me some fabulous white gold hoop earrings and a return address stamper that has our family name and address on it. You will see it when I send you letters in the mail. Now Jase can sit for longer periods without support. In the next post you will see a video of him. I promise he was not injured in the making of the video!

"I don't know what all the big fuss is!"
"Whoa, look at my feet move."
"What drool?"
Precious
Proud parents!!
Who will be the next dental student??????

look at me!!

My poor baby!

Jase started getting a fever Saturday night and I thought he was just teething. Well, motherly instincts told me that something may be wrong. So Jason took him to the doctor today. Well he has a bad ear infection, a bad case of thrush and irritated throat. The doctor could not believe how well-mannered he was for being ill with so many things. This would explain why he acted as if his mouth has been bothering him, making me think it was his teeth. Luckily he has not stopped eating which happens to many children. He is now weighing 20lbs and 12ozs, which is 2 pounds heavier than four weeks ago!! Check him out in his size 12 month Carhartt overalls. The first photo was altered by my creative father. Ha!

Rosie Cheeks

Jase has been just growing so fast and doing so many things! He is starting to really fill out his 6-12 month clothes so soon he will be in 18 month clothes. It really all just depends on the brand though. He continues to grab at everything and at times gets irritated if he can reach it. Mostly daddy's cellphone is the main thing that he wants that he can't get. He grabs his feet whenever he is on his back, which can be tricky when changing his diaper. He talks so much and the school even makes comments all the time about how much he talks. These pictures were taken after school yesterday and shortly after that he was asleep. He goes to sleep between 630pm and 730pm. So we don't get too much time with him before he is off in dream land. He still wake up almost every hour for about first 4 hours after he goes to sleep (books call it cluster feeding) to eat before going to sleep for the first stretch of three hours and then wakes me up every two hours after that. I guess he is making up for not eating so much during the day. He is starting to eat a little better at school but still not as much as the other kids and he is still bigger than all of them! He likes to roll on his stomach and sleep this way but not every time. It makes me so nervous, especially since he doesn't roll back to his back yet. His head strength is good and he lets me know loud and clear when he has lost his pacifier when he is on his stomach. He sleeps with a little "lovey" blankie and holds on to it. For those of you that know...he must be like his mama! Jason graduates in two weekends and we are looking forward to all the company we will have.
