Almost 14 months old

Lots of things have been happening since Jase turned one. And it seems to be almost daily that he learns something. He has really been trying to talk and has actually said some words that sounded like the actual word. His first official understandable word was "Shoe", not mama but SHOE! Of course I am happy to have this happen but I would like to hear him call for me by a name and not just crying. Today he said Cold while Jason was feeding him some frosty from Wendy's. He signs like crazy still and today I taught him "Please" but of course it will be a while before he can actually put it into use. Some of you may not know this but Jase was not circumcised at birth because my doctor was nervous to do it. So we were referred to a urologist when Jase was six months old. At that time he told us to wait till Jase was at least a year old before having the surgery because he would have to be anesthetized. I took him last week to be evaluated and he will have the surgery done Friday February 15th. It is hard to have this done now because he is older and will be put under, but it's something we wanted done at birth. At his appointment he weighed 28 pounds and was 32 inches tall while standing with his shoes on.

This past weekend we went to Charlotte to Jason's brother's home because his parents were coming down from Virginia. It was so great to see them all and we had a great time.
Could they be brothers or what??!!
He was going to give the bird kisses...but his kisses are with an open mouth so that will not work.
Trying to get a pose with the three cousins was not working out so well.
You can't catch me grandpa!!
" They just like me a little"
Down, Set, Hut!
One day that football will be the size of his hand.
Happy little family!

Woodall Visit

This weekend we had The Woodalls come visit us. We just had a blast. It didn't snow here like other parts of Georgia but rain was plenty. On Saturday Erin and I took the kids to a place called Fort Discovery, which was a scientific place for people of all ages. The kids had fun trying different experiments and it was a great way to get them out of the house to burn off that energy. Luke and Jack are so full of energy and spent most of the time wrestling and throwing themselves to the floor. Their favorite movie right now is Nacho Libre and they watched it about four times yet I never got to watch the entire thing. Jase had a grand ole time with them and really liked having them all around. It was sad to have them leave. Hopefully they will be back again soon!

Jase wrestling with Luke.
Jase trying to play Jack's DS or should I say EAT IT!

The kids had so much fun in the bath. You can really tell by Jase's face.

Bowen checking out his precious John Deere boots and in his Carhartt overalls.
Luke, Bowen and Erin
Jase started having a high fever again this weekend. Here he is with his red hot cheeks. Poor guy just can't seem to kick the bug. Although he acted as if he didn't have a fever.
Ben, Luke and Jack hanging out watching a movie.
Jase was very sad that they had left.

What the heck?!

I am not sure what has happened to the side of Jase's finger but he has a little infection. This was taken several days ago so now it is drying up. How the heck does this happen? Pretty gnarly, huh?

Here is Jase telling me he is sleepy. And how cool is that shirt? A friend of mine gave it to him and it's one shirt made to look like two. Those are some handsome jeans...hand-me-downs from William.

Warning: Content may upset you!!

Jase went into garage and came into the house with the jug of windshield washer fluid.
That thing was sloshing all around and it wasn't light either. But once it got it inside he was not interested anymore. I guess because it was heavy and he couldn't get it open.
So below I must warn you is some awful photos. At least it was awful for me! Jase and I were playing outside yesterday when he decided to pick up one of the ceramic animals we have on the front porch. Well I told him that it was not a toy and that he needed to put it down. Just then he took a step forward smiling so excited that he had the duck in his hands. He stepped right where there is a step down and he came tumbling forward landing face down on the concrete sidewalk down three steps. The duck broke into pieces and I scooped him up quickly and ran inside. I was so scared to see what he looked like and below is what I found. Not with a smile at first though. He recovered very quickly and I am still suffering every time I see him.

Below is what it looks like today. Scabbed over and luckily no broken teeth!

You can't see it but he has a phone in his hand and he is putting it up to his ear (which is more like the back of his head)!! So cute. Hmmmmmm...I wonder where he learned that from.

13 months old

So after Jase healed from his tummy virus he seems to have another kind of bug. The darn bug that gives you a nasty cough and snotty nose. I mean he isn't around other children that are sick and still the poor guy got sick. Luckily no fever just a terrible cough that now has mucus come up with it. It's cute when he coughs and sticks his fingers in his mouth and pulls them out looking at the slimy stuff wondering "what the heck is this?" He isn't crazy about having his nose wiped but yesterday Jason taught him to blow his nose. Although he doesn't blow hard enough it's so cute to hear the air come out of his nose while he tries. I also used the snot sucker machine I have which got some good stuff but he fought me every bit of the way. Sorry to gross you out but I guess I am just gross that way!
So on top of being sick the other day I was changing his diaper and he was trying to take off his sock. He was pulling and pulling then the sock came off and his hands and sock went flying back and he hit himself in the eye. Oh, it was so sad he was screaming bloody murder couldn't open his eyes for several minutes and when he finally was able to open them they were watering. The white of his eye was red for two days and the second day he was able to open his eye just fine.
He has been signing like crazy and just dying to know more signs. He tells us when he is tired and today he even told Jason that he wanted to come inside and eat dinner. Okay, okay, okay...he didn't say all that but he signed eat then went to Jason lifting his arms to pick him up. Then two separate outdoor occasions he has signed "dog" when he heard dogs barking in the distance. And we aren't even asking him if he hears a dog, every time we didn't even notice that a dog was barking till he signed it. Our sign for dog is using your right hand and hitting the ear lob several times (as if imitating a dog scratching behind the ear). He also looks down when he walks which is hysterical looking because he used to just look straight forward then trip over everything so now he is able to walk around objects on the floor. But he hasn't mastered looking up and down at the same time while walking so it just looks like he is walking around with mad/serious face.
My father taught him "Hip Hip Hooray" and raising his arms, Jason also taught him to do it when he says "Touchdown"
This was the day that he had hit his eye. He just looked pitiful. It was the left eye, his right.
Jason was taking a picture of him and he decided to put the balls to his face and pose for the camera. I kept telling him to come back and pose for the camera and he did it several more times.
Here he is coming back posing again.
He just knows that he is tooooooooo cute for words.
This is the serious look he likes to give. I haven't yet been able to teach him to do it on command though. He just does it on his own.
