Busy Weekend

This weekend was supposed to be fun and relaxing a yard sale held by me with the help of my mother and sister. Well it turned into me getting ill and my mother and sister having to do the entire yard sale themselves. Luckily I had prepared most of the stuff before they got here. Friday evening I went to bed and around 2am I woke up to nurse Zach and I was feverish, sore throat, had body aches and pains with chills. I was so distressed about being sick and my yard sale. By 5am I had broken out in hives and had a fever of 101.6. The hives were my usual hives that were on my scalp and part of my face. We had two house showings for the day and after the yard sale was over we had to leave, which was awful for me being so sick. My hives slowly got worse through the day and by 5pm at our second showing we decided I should go to an urgent care facility at local hospital. There they were "wowed" and "intrigued" by my hives. I told the doctor to check my throat because I thought maybe hives were in my throat because it was sore and I was worried. He then came back and told me I had strep infection. I received to epinephrine shots for my hives and a penicillin shot for my strep. He told me to go to the emergency room by midnight if they had not improved.

This is a photo of us from a previous weekend.

This is me before going to the hospital at 10pm. My face seemed to be getting a little better by them but other parts of my body were not.

My face looks pretty pitiful because I have never been to the emergency room and was a little worried.

The hives that started as a few little spots turned into large welts and then this was actually getting better in the middle but worse on the edges.

Again my back started with a hand full of bumps it turned to this huge mess. I waited 4 and a half hours to be seen and finally was hooked up to an IV of several meds. I actually started looking better by the time they were able to see me but by 5am I was released and started looking a little better. My mother and I went home to finally go to sleep. Jason had to stay home with the children and Zach had to have formula while I was gone because it was not known if it was safe for me to nurse on all of these drugs pumped in my body. The doctor at the ER said I could nurse and thank goodness because when we got home Zach had been awake for a couple hours and Jason was unable to get him to go back to sleep. I spent half of the day sleeping. Jason had left to get my medicines and came home with this fun surprise for Jase.

Jase got his first bicycle. He didn't want to get on it so Jason was trying to encourage him to get on by getting on it.

He grabbed the helmet and put it on his head...like he knew what he was doing.

He just wanted to push around. Hopefully he will get on it soon.

My mother just thought it was so hilarious to see Zach sucking on his toes. Look at him go.

Monday Jase had tubes put in his ears and his adenoids removed. He did well, although the hour after Jase woke up was pretty unpleasant. He didn't want the monitor in his toe and he wanted that IV out of his hand. He was very upset and crying and confused. He was pretty out of it when we got home and here he was very chill at the table playing with his trains. Hopefully after this procedure Jase will feel better and maybe not be as grouchy at times. They said he had a lot of fluid in his ears and his adenoids were huge. He was like a new child this morning. He did get back to his old self as the day went on. Time will only tell.
On another note...our house is under contract!! Whoohoo...

First Tooth

Here is a glimpse of Zach's first tooth. Notice the look in his eyes...very concerned at the situation at hand. This is how you do it folks. Stick all fingers in and spread. Yippee!

Spring Break

Jason had off for spring break so we headed to Lawrenceville to see my parents then off to Virginia to see Jason's parents for the second half of the week. Jase and Zach did so good in the car. Jase never complains to get out of the seat and just sits happily watching his movies. He's really into Thomas again and all he wants to play with are his trains. Zach only complained when he wanted to nurse and Jase said "chill out Zaqui!". We busted out laughing so hard. I normally say "Chill Sanchez" (not sure where it came from) to Zach and I say "Chill Out" to Jase when he is freaking out. So now he says it when Zach complains and it makes me giggle every time. Zach had his 6 month check up before we left on our trip. He weighed 22.4 lbs (97+%) and is 27 1/4 inches long (75%). He did real good for his shots and Jase kept telling him "it's okay" and "good boy"...what a sweet big brother. While we were there we had the doctor check Jase's ears since we were about to go on a trip and he had had a low fever all week. Well, he indeed had another ear infection!!!!! So to the Ear, Nose and Throat doctor we go this week. They will assess his history and check his ears. He keeps sticking his finger in his ear so I don't think that the antibiotics got rid of this one.
My sister and I took the boys to a playground and Jase wanted to run away from us in the parking lot and ended up falling. I didn't think much of the bloody lip he had since it happens quite a bit. Later I was pushing him on the swing and he was laughing and smiling and that is when I saw the black marks on his front teeth and a chunk missing from his right front tooth!! ugh. This picture is kind of fuzzy but you may be able to tell that the left tooth is missing the corner piece.
While we were in Virginia, Jason and his brother and father took Jase to a playground that had huge fields so Jase could run to his hearts content. Funny to think he will be as big as his daddy, grandpa and uncle one day!

Grammy blowing bubbles with Jase. He enjoyed playing with Grammy.

Zach is eating so well and is really getting it down. Today he ate and barely spit any out. He gets pretty impatient and wants you to focus on him and feed him. He will kind of grunt and has his arms out to his side. He also likes to drink from a sippy cup.

I put an Easter basket together for Jase but the only thing he cared about in it was the train named Daisy from Thomas the Tank Engine. He was so excited and here he is looking at it while I try to figure out how to open it.

Here he is examining Daisy's face and if you look closely you will see a crooked smile of excitement.

Loving his new engine.

He lines them up and makes sure they go in a straight line.

Zach with his Aunt Betsy

Zach still doesn't sit solely by himself but with a little support he does pretty good. On the bed he does real good. We were trying to get a picture of Jase and Zach together but Jase wouldn't stay still long enough. Zach has his first tooth breaking through but we haven't taken a picture of it yet. Maybe the next post!!

CIRCUS...200th post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooohooo!

My parents came last weekend with my brother and my niece, Elektra. It was going to be a rainy Saturday so I came up with the idea for us to go to the circus. I was nervous about Jase sitting in the stadium seats so I brought his booster seat so I could strap him in and he wouldn't feel like he could just get down when he wanted. This is what I do when we go to the movies too. He was really into it and kept his eyes on the performers. He kept repeating that we were at the circus.

Here he is transfixed on the acrobat that is hanging from a rope. Check out the curls! It was raining and his hair got a little wet and dried like this.
Those are some tasty lips. Looking extra plump that day.

The elephants were soooooo neat. As soon as they came out I almost got emotional because they were holding each other's tails with their trunks and were so big. Here they are sitting on the stools.

My brother and his daughter. Do they look related or what?! She was supposed to nap before we went but she was too excited to actually fall asleep. She passed out within a minute of driving home.
During intermission sucking on a lollipop. He even got to try cotton candy for the first time. Of course he thought it was "m...m...good" (his words exactly). Zach did so good too even though he was sleepy. He sat and watched the entire thing as well.

Jase and I were playing and when I thought we were done he continued with the game that required me to catch him and lift him up to me while I sat on the couch. Well he ran right into my mouth with his head. It hurt so bad I couldn't even speak or cry...which is what I wanted to do. The picture doesn't show the swelling as well as I hoped it would but you get the idea. Six days later and it is still sore and bruised.

Jase playing with his trains.
